The Lennar Foundation Medical Center, UHealth’s brand new state-of-the-art outpatient facility located on the University of Miami Coral Gables Campus, is currently hiring Registered Nurses with oncology experience for our Chemotherapy Treatment and Infusion Unit. The Lennar Foundation Medical Center is a full service Outpatient Care Center and operates Monday through Friday. The Chemotherapy Treatment and Infusion Registered Nurse will:
Administer standard chemotherapy, research study and biotherapy agents as well as non-chemotherapy medications.
Monitor therapeutic responses and side effects, and obtain pharmacokinetic blood samples and other laboratory specimens as required by each protocol.
Document in an accurate manner according to clinical practice standards.
Coordinate the plan of care with patients, family and members of the interdisciplinary team.
Promote development of clinical practice based on research and evidence.
Assist leadership team with maintenance of initial and ongoing unit-based clinical competencies.
Liaison between patients, caregivers and community resources.
Demonstrate creativity and innovation in approach to complex problem solving.
Consistently maintain confidentiality of materials, which may violate HIPAA regulations and jeopardize privacy.
Act as a role model and maintain professional demeanor at all times.
Develop and maintains continuous clinical competency.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. Current/valid State of Florida Registered Nursing license. At least three years of recent oncology nursing experience administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents. BLS and ACLS certifications required. Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course. Oncology certification preferred. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Proven record of accomplishment of building relationships with physicians, direct reports and key staff. Moderate to advanced computer literacy and skills. Any relevant combination of skills and work experience will be considered.
