In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
We are seeking a Aide-Rehab
The Aide-Rehab Therapy, assists therapists and therapist assistants with therapy treatments. Performs general department maintenance and maintains inventory of department equipment, linen and supplies. Works with multi-disciplinary team. Must be willing to work in a variety of settings. May perform office/clerical duties and assist others in the rehabilitation services department as needed.
MAJOR CHALLENGES:
- Working independently without direct supervision.
- Prioritizing tasks in the face of requests from many therapists and managers.
- Providing support to patients/clients with varying ages, behavior, cognitive levels and/or language barriers.
- Maintaining open communication and interacting positively with a large multidisciplinary team.
- Processing information accurately, thoroughly, and quickly amidst a variety of environmental distractions.
Patient Population Served: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric
Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior, and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The caregiver must be sufficiently fluent in the English language to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. The degree of fluency required will vary depending upon the nature of the position.

For direct patient care roles: Performs and maintains currency of essential competencies as required by specific area of hire and populations served.
o Assists therapists and therapist assistants with therapy treatments:
o Monitors patient reaction to therapy and reports significant changes or developments to therapist.
o Transports / escorts patients
In this position you will:
o Assists therapists and therapist assistants with therapy treatments:
o Monitors patient reaction to therapy and reports significant changes or developments to therapist.
o Transports / escorts patients to treatment/hospital rooms as needed.
o Assists in transferring patients between different surfaces as needed.
o Assists in general department maintenance by performing light housekeeping tasks on a frequent basis:
o Changes linen in patient treatment areas per department procedure.
o Performs scheduled cleaning and maintenance of department equipment and supplies per department procedures.
o Orders, stocks, and performs inventory of therapy supplies and maintains inventory of equipment and linen.
**Qualifications:**
Required qualifications this position include:
Education:
H.S. Diploma or GED or equavelent experience
Coursework/Training Completion of PH&S Rehabilitation Services Department Therapy Aide training program within 3 months of employment.
License/Certification:
o AHA-BLS required within 3 months of hire.
o PLs 540 and 580: In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check is required for this position.
Experience:
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Education:
Coursework/Training Some college coursework.
Coursework/Training Training in Windows based software programs. Or equivalent educ/experience
License/Certification:
o AHA-BLS required within 3 months of hire.
o PLs 540 and 580: In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check is required for this position.
